Communicator Setup

So I installed Communicator over the weekend and I have a few questions.

1) What MAC address should I use... problem is that when I'm at home, I'm wireless and when I'm in the office, I'm wired. So, I had it working at home no problem, but when I hit the office, it wouldn't start... once I enabled my wireless it worked of course. Any suggestions to get the best of both worlds?

2) I use the Clarisys handset which always worked great with Softphone. With Communicator the integration is not so good. If you try to dial with handset, it echos the digits (so you press 9, it dials 99 in Communicator). Also, things like the End to end the call does not work. With a USB Headset I'm sure these would be non-issues, but I like this device and alot of my clients use it as well. Any one have any thoughts here?

Thanks,

1) The Mac address should not change, you need to change the network adaptor listed under the network tab in preferences.

2) not sure about the Clarysis, but does it echo if you dial from the PC keyboard or only from the keypad on the clarisys? If it's only on the clarisys, then perhaps adjusting the volume on the handset will prevent the echo (though I'm not so sure)

1) Ok... it's not that clean, but it does appear to work... thanks.

2) Well, it doesn't echo in the audio sense, but in a terminal type of sense... if I dial it from the keyboard... no problem, but it treats the clarisys like another input device (if I open wordpad and dial, digits show up as they should). It has to be a setting somewhere.

Has anyone else had this issue, I am running the ip communicator with clarisys usb phone, I loaded the the latest version of software from the clarisys web site. And I am still getting that "echo" when I try and dial a phone number, with the claisys keypad. I noticed that there is a USB patch that now comes with the IP Communicator but that only works with 2000 and not with XP which I am running on my laptop. Thanks for any info.
