Hello all,

i'm looking for some advice on migrating from and demo Compaq (DL360) to a MCS -7835. We want to take the Compaq server out of commision and make the MCS the publisher which the Compaq currently is.

As long as the array controller is the same, you shouldn't have a problem. The array controller information and array (RAID 0) set is stored on the SCSI disks. If the array controller is the same on the MCS 7835 (newer models use the 5si) then you should be able to move the drives.

If you have a mirror set on the compaq now... take out Disk 1 and place it in the MCS. If it boots and runs then you are in the clear.

Of course always back up your data. If the array controllers are not the same then you will need to back up the Cm server which creates an .sti file in the directory or tape location you specify.
