CUC asks for caller name

Hi!

 

I want to implement the following scenario:

 

External caller dials to unity connection. CUC ask them for the name and collect message > then forward that message to distribution list. 

 

I have set up forwarded routing rule (attempt transfer to call handler), call handler (supervised transfer to dummy DN, ask for callers name, when busy forward to voicemail) and distribution list.  I'm getting external messages but without callers name. 

 

It is possible to collect external caller name without redirecting call to real DN?

Supervised transfer/call screening and taking a message are two separate operations.

You may be able to use an Interview Handler for this though. Taking the name would be the first question and the message the second question. That feature is used so rarely that I don’t remember whether you can send it to DL or not; worth a try though.
