External Caller ID

CCM 3.3.3 (sr4)

2621 XM With a T-1 PRI

7960's

I am trying to set the caller id on outgoing calls out of the T-1. I would like a general number to output if the individual line doesn't have a External Phone Number Mask.

On the Route Pattern I have entered the "Calling Party Transform Mask" to the gerneral number that I want. For the people that have a DID, I have entered the "External Phone Number Mask" to thier DID number. The problem is that I always get the "Calling Party Transform Mask" number not the DID. I do have the "Use Calling Party's External Phone Number Mask" checked under the Route Pattern Configuration.

If I remove the "Calling Party's External Phone Number Mask" I do get the correct DID caller ID, but then the people that don't have a DID send only thier 4 digit extension.

Thank you for your help.

Hello ,

First some points need to be clear ,

1. T1 link terminated on the 2621 has DID ?

2. U have put the calling party transformation mask at the route-pattern ? and external phone no mask as well ?

3. how many IP Phones u have on ur network ?

one sol:

Have u created the route group ? if yes in the route group config u can set the calling party transformation for all out going call . i belive u r js putting the prefix to the extension of the IP Phone . Kindly correct me if i m wrong .if u r doing that do it for all . here .. js add prefeix and transform the digit at gateway level.

Regards

Anand

There may be a better way but what I've done is use the answer-address command on my voip dial peers to catch the non-did numbers and set the clid there. For instance

dial-peer voice 1 voip

description "Incoming Dialpeer for DIDs"

answer-address xxx.......

destination-pattern ....

session target ipv4:10.39.2.42

dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric

!

dial-peer voice 2 voip

description "Incoming Dialpeer for non-DIDs"

preference 1

answer-address 3...

destination-pattern ....

session target ipv4:10.39.2.41

dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric

clid network-number xxxxxxxxxx

In the first dial-peer replace the 'xxx'; with your DID area code. In the second dial-peer replace 'xxxxxxxxxx' with your default CLID number.

Hope that helps

I am not sure how feasible this is in your environment but for the DN's that are not DID just enter the main number in the External Phone number mask for that line.

That should work
