External callers leaving black messages!

I have a centralized cm and unity setup located in Nashville. My Dallas site has a 1760 with 4 FXO interfaces. External callers come in on one of the Dallas FXO ports they can hear the subscribers greeting and Unitys prompts and appear to be allow to leave a message. But why my subsciber trys to listen to the message it just silence for the same amount of time the the message should have been.

I can fix it buy changing the codec in the region settings from dallas to nashville to g.711 (it doesnt work with g.729).

I thought Unity supported both codec's buy default after 3.1.1

Unity can support g.729 and g.711. It's possible that the gateway is streaming the g.729 packets at a size other than 20 bytes. Unity only supports 20 byte packets so this would cause messages to be blank.

The byte size can be hard set using this command:

codec g729br8 bytes 20

Also, what code are you running on the 1760?
