I have a PC connected to a modem. I would like to connect this modem to a router Cisco 1751 equipped with a VIC-FXS card. May I connect my modem to a VIC-FXS port? Which kind of problem could I have?

Thank you for your support.

Yes, you can do that. What are you going to call with the modem. Where will the call go to another voice interface on the 1751 or to some other device. This is what you will want to be concerned with is what are the 2 end points of the call. Also what version of IOS are you running on the 1751?

Thank you,

Thank you for your answer; on the 1751 is running this version of IOS software: IP1751(S17C-IP SOFTWARE); my router is connected to an IP network and this one is connected to the PSTN with a gateway Cisco AS5300.

Thank you

I forgot to tell to you that I work with riposial and so we have tha same kind of problem.
