FXS Voltage supplied too low

PASCAL DECK

We have a WS-X6624-FXS card installed in Catalyst 6506 with CCM 3.3.2spC and a vg200 IOS gateway.

The FXS ports supply ~26v instead of 48V expected.

The problem is that the connected faxes does not handel a call because they need min. 33V (according FAX technician).

Does anybody know how to get 48V in FXS ports of the WS-X6624-FXS card?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You will need to configure the "idle-voltage high" command in voice port configuration. Please see the following link for confirmation.

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.

Sorry, I notice that this command is not available for the WS-x6624-FXS module. I don't see where you can change the voltage on this device.

As Brandon stated:

Note: This option is not available on the VG248 , VIC-2FXS, and WS-x6624 FXS interfaces

But, If my memory serves me correctly this is done through the device-load via CallManager and is only available through localization i.e. all gateways in

the same local behave the same way (Network Locale).

Not sure which locale will give you the correct output, let me do some research and let u know.

In the mean time make sure you are using the latest device load supported for your 6624|CCM version.

FYI,

This company sells a unit to increase loop voltage
