How to get the type of IP Phone?

Hi,

anyone know how to get the device type of the connected ip phone (in ASP), such as 7960. 7970, ip communicator ?

I suppose one way would be to look at the headers from a http request that the phone sends.. different phones have different header content (for instance User-Agent, or or the x-CiscoIPPhone version). Another would be to query the http server on the phone and get the actual device type.
