Missed calls prefix in CCM

Can anybody tell me if it is still necessary to use translation patterns to prepend "9" to an incoming callers id so that it can be dialed from the missed calls directory without edit. I am using CCM 3.3.4.

Many thanks, Des.

I have always used translation pattern, so the number seen on the phone is the one you need to dial, as you say saves editing, here is what I use,

I use 0 instead of 9

translation-rule 1

Rule 1 ^0.% 0

Rule 2 ^1.% 01

Rule 3 ^2.% 02

Rule 4 ^3.% 03

Rule 5 ^4.% 04

Rule 6 ^5.% 05

Rule 7 ^6.% 06

Rule 8 ^7.% 07

Rule 9 ^8.% 08

Rule 10 ^9.% 09

applied to the dial-peer that goes to the CCM

dial-peer voice 3000 voip

incoming called-number .

destination-pattern 8...

translate-outgoing calling 1

voice-class codec 1

session target ipv4: etc

hope this helps RB

Thanks for the reply RB. We are using a CMM blade in a 6500 chassis as our E1 gateway. The only manual configuration required on the blade is to point it to the CCM, CCM completes the rest of the IOS config on the blade according to the settings on the gateway in CCM Admin.

I tried manually inserting a modified version of your config above, but I suspect it does not work as all digit manipulation is passed straight to CCM.

I suspect I need some way of adding digits to the Calling ID which is configured within CCM.

Des.

I am not familier with te 6500 CMM, but I suspect you still have a voice port configured,

so add the translation rule to the voice port

eg;

Voice-port 0/1:15

translate calling 1

thanks

Richard.

As far as I know you still have to do it unless to either prefix a 9 as the call comes in or prefix it automatically as it goes out.

I have done it both ways and you will just use translation patterns with either route filters or creative syntax on the rule itself for matching.

I personally like prefixing the 9 as the call comes in but, some customers may nnot like to see the 9 in the ANI of the call.
