On 7940 and 7960 phones, is there a way to change the top line on the LCD display (above the first line appearance)? I'd like to be able to remove the primary extension number from showing up on one of our phones. (CCM 3.3)
Thanks
Dan

The only way I know to do this is to add an external calling mask. This will replace the DN.

No problem. Just remember this is not just asthetics, it is actually used in the call presentation of off-net calls. To override it, or to allow it, you will have to program your route patterns, route groups, route lists and gateways in such a way to work in combination with it.
Also there is a system parameter for the 7910 to remove the external calling mask and replace it with the extension since there is only one line for this.

We transform the caller ID that we send in our route patterns to our corporate number (no DIDs) and I tested and it looks like that still works. Thanks again.
