Dustin,
Try the following:
* SSH to the the DMM AAI Interface
* Go to NETWORK SETTINGS
* Select HOSTNAME
* EDIT the current Hostname by simply RETYPING the existing HOSTNAME.
and save
* The go to Appliance control and Restart Web Services
* Once the services has restarted, try accessing the Web GUI again.
I hope this helps!

Just thought of another thing...
Verify that your Upgrade 5.2.1 ISO image has the correct MD5 Hash.
MD5 HASH FILE CHECK ON DMS IMAGES ================================= Use an MD5 File checking utility on DMS images when experiencing ODD issues during or right after an Upgrade or Install. Utility used for this example is "openssl" on a MAC OSX system. Note: The HASH string IS CASE SENSITIVE. The Strings MUST match exactly to ensure a NON-corrupt image. If YOUR File does NOT match these Hash strings, Please download the images again and verify that you have the correct Hash strings for your image file. Digital Media Manager(DMM) 5.2.1 Filename: DMS-5.2.0.25.iso % openssl md5 dmm52to521.iso MD5(dmm52to521.iso)= 7d910dc8b7b33aac3523fb3ef36fbb65 **** Show and Share(SnS) 5.2.1 Filename: SS-5.2.0.20.iso % openssl md5 sns52to521.iso MD5(sns52to521.iso)= f4f89591b846e6f97b83ad94e6f4b6e3 **** Digital Media Player(DMP) 4400-G 5.2.1 Filename: 5.2.0_FCS_4400.fwimg % openssl md5 5.2.1_FCS_4400.fwimg MD5(5.2.1_FCS_4400.fwimg)= b33502950ffab54f5ace39d1d2714a48 **** Digital Media Player(DMP) 4305-G 5.2.1 Filename: 5.2.0_FCS_4305.fwimg % openssl md5 5.2.1_FCS_4305.fwimg MD5(5.2.1_FCS_4305.fwimg)= 13be901bb5fd505b658f70b8c3208476

Thanks Tomas we (TAC and I) tried your first advice with no avail. I proceeded to use the 5.2 restore
CD and then upgrade to 5.2.1 with no issues. I may still look into the hash issue for future knowledge.
