pri channel question

Hi All,

I have debug output like this ;

Requested Channel 18 is not available

and when I  checked  serial interface I can see just 15 channel instead of 30

what can be the problem , cable or anything else ?

Channels are defined on the E1 controller. How is that configured? Usually when you see a subset of the total channels configured it's because only a fractional circuit was purchased from the carrier. Be sure to check with them before enabling remaining channels.

Actually, I see  16 channels  in pvdm . the issue is when the call come it sends to channel above 16 and it drops.Although 16 channel is not full.

(Requested Channel 18 is not available.)

I configured  pri-group timeslots 1-16 command .

can reason be ios?

You have configured it wrong.

You cannot decide on which channel a call comes in,

Either configure for 30 channels, or ask telco to reduce to 15.
