Setting Proxy on IP Phones

Hi all,

A customer that uses an automatic configuration for proxy (link .../proxy.pac under LAN settings in Internet Explorer) asking for username/password the first time you open IE and you want t surf the Internet, wants to see some web services on the IP Phones.

A colleague told me about Berbee (http://phone-xml.berbee.com/menu.xml) to show some samples, but I wasn't able to solve the issue about the proxy: in fact, if I set the .../proxy.pac under the IP Phone IP Phone Service doesn't work, if I set nothing doesn't work too, so I wasn't able to find a solution.

I already set the proxy on CCM server, but nothing changed.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks

Regards

Roberto

You can use the IP Phone Proxy Address parameter setting from the CCM Admin page.

CCMAdmin --> System --> Enterprise Parameter --> Phone URL Parameters --> IP Phone Proxy Address -->

This parameter allows the administrator to specify a proxy server name or address and port (for example, - proxy.cisco.com:8080). If the proxy server is specified, the Cisco IP Phones use it to request all URLs. Leave this setting blank for the phones to attempt to connect directly to all URLs. If a name is used, phones should be configured with valid DNS servers to allow name to IP resolution. Confirm that the proxy server is available at the destination specified.
