Since upgrade from CCM v3.3(4) unable to run XML app

Our customer has upgraded Call Manager from 3.3(4) to 4.1(3). They use an application to send a diary reminder to users phones (7912s). Since the upgrade the application is unable to authenticate. We have a username that is associated with the relevent devices. We have tried a password change. If we try to http from a web browser the following error is displayed after 3 attempts to log in.

'Protected Object'

'This object on the RomPager server is protected.'

Is this a phone load issue? 7912 version is 6.01.00(050315C)

I have seen, very rarely, where you have to delete the device from CCM, and allow the device to reregister.
