Unity Failover Design

For unity failover , all documentation for integrating into a pbx looks

like analog integration, Can a digital t1 intgeration work?

Is there a benifit to using analog? or any limitations

to the t1 integration for failover?

For a T1 integration I assume you connecting to either a NEAX2400 or Intecom PBX. Here are the Failover chapters for those Integration Guides...

The biggest challenge with T1 is getting the PBX to forward the calls to the secondary trunk group. If the Primary server has stopped taking calls but the T1 link is still up, the PBX will attempt to ring every port before forwarding to the Secondary server. If this state were to occur, you can manually force failover by stopping Dialogic services or disconnecting the T1 link on the Primary server.

Yes it is a 2400 and with analog integration we would not

have this problem correct? how does it work with analog?

If my server has multiple analog boards

and one of the boards goes bad does it failover then?

With an analog set up you will only have one set of voicemail lines. Both Unity servers will simultaneously monitor these lines for incoming calls. The Primary server will answer calls on the first ring while the passive Secondary server will ignore the first two rings. If a call goes unanswered for more than two rings and Forced Failover is enabled, then the Secondary server will pickup the call. At this time Forced Failover will be initiated.
