Try to config VG224, but without success. Below is the sample config file from CCO. http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/access/vg/vg224/scg/scgappa.htm
Can someone post a workable VG224 config file? Thanks in advance.

Do you have an MGCP or SCCP image?
If MGCP here is a config you could use:

service timestamps debug datetime msec
service timestamps log datetime msec
no service password-encryption
!

Quick question... does this VG224 configuration support Fax services (we have to replace a large number of ATA186 units with the VG224, which will be on the same subnet as the CallManager).

As far as I know, yesm the VG224 supports Fax services. We've ended up using both, but actually found the ATA's to be more stable once we'd sorted out the clock slip on our E1. Just had some weird ones with the VG's where faxes stop answering until we restart them.

I'm seeing the same thing, could you please advise on how you got around it, I sometimes find my ports freeze and a restart on each is required,
Kind Regards

Yes the VG224 supports Fax services. We are replacing the ATA devices that are not able to do Super G3 faxing. I sure hope we don't have any new problems. We are using SCCP rather than MGCP on CCM 4.1.3. How about you?

UGH! Mine is STILL sitting in its box, brand new with the plastic still around it. And we just ordered $275K worth of CallManager 5.0 hardware and software (to upgrade from 3.3(4) version). We'll get to it... sooner or later and I'll let you know.

We're just testing too. I have 13 248's and 9 224's coming in March. These better work!! Anyway, here's the jist of skinny config that worked for me;
stcapp ccm-group 1
stcapp
!
voice-port 2/1
caller-id enable
!
voice-port 2/2
caller-id enable
!
sccp local FastEthernet0/0
sccp ccm 10.10.81.21 identifier 10 version 4.1
sccp
!
sccp ccm group 1
associate ccm 10 priority 1
!
dial-peer voice 101 pots
service stcapp
port 2/1
!
dial-peer voice 102 pots
service stcapp
port 2/2
