Hi,

I have two switches 6500 sup2/msfc2, IOS Version 12.1(22)E. Hsrp, OSPF are configured.

When I connect a sniffer on a port, I see the traffic of others clients as if the span is configured.

It is a known bug ?

You should only see broadcasts and things like that from other users if they are on the same vlan . You should not see legitimate source/destination ip traffic unless span is configured .

I would not think it as a bug to begin with. Most common reason is unicast flooding. The common reasons are discussed in the following tech tip

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/473/143.html

Thank you for your reponses, the description of unicatflooding in the tech tip resembles so that I meet on my 6500. I will take the advice of the tech tip, to try to limit these unicastflooding
