Does anybody know if there is a maximum to the number of network statements you can use on any one BGP instance on an MSFC?

best regards,

Daniel,

There is no architectural limitation. The only restriction would be the size of the config that would fit in NVRAM.

I have a recollection of reading something about a limit of 200 in older IOS versions, but I can't recall which version first eliminated this restriction.

That sounds more like the IDB (interface descriptor) limit, which limited the number of interfaces. It became a serious problem when having tens or hundreds of virtual interfaces for VPNs and the like became popular. That should have nothing to do with BGP network statements.

Hi,

I do recall, reading related to MPLS, that there cannot be more than 200 network statements, remember this is related to MBGP.

Otherwise i think, there shouldnt be a restriction on the number of network statements you can use.
