Are all of the ports Fa0/1 - 4 all down at the moment? If so, that is why.

Hi All,

well, 0/1 - 4 look no different to 0/7 - 12, yet, vlan 3 is active, and vlan 2 isn't...missed something..?

True. The only difference I can see is that you have a management interface on VLAN 2 that is down, whereas you don't on VLAN 3. Maybe it is soemthing to do with that. Try creating an administratively-down management interface for VLAN 3 and see if it behaves the same way.

BTW, which VLAN is F0/6 on?

What makes you say VLAN2 is a management VLAN(or has a management interface)..? I certainly didn't do anything to make it such. Can you point out where that is, and how to rectify it.? Cheers.

coolboarderguy...

It's the line in the show int brief that says VLAN2 unassigned YES unset administratively down down. When you do a show run, can you see an int vlan 2? If so, you can get rid of it with a no int vlan 2. Looks like it is a zombie anyway, cos I can see your active management interface is VLAN 1.

Try going into the vlan database , config t, vlan database , type vlan 2 state active . Looks like it got shutdown somehow .
