i current run intervlan routing (IVR) on 3620 which is directly connected to my 6509. i have put in 2 x msfc sup's. i want to move routing to the 6509 now, here is my question:
would i be able to pre-configure IVR (same ip's, etc) on the 6509 for the vlan's i want to route w/out affecting the current IVR setup going to my 3620?
(i have sub interfaces created on my 3620 for the vlan's i want to route)
thanks

You can configure the MSFCs with VLAN interfaces and the IP addresses from the 3620 as long as the VLAN interfaces are still down(You cannot have same IPs at the same time when your 3620 is routing.)
Once you have configured everything, you can shut down the link to the 3620 and unshut the VLAN interfaces on the MSFC
Since you have 2 MSFCs in teh same chassis, make sure you configure the MSFCs for some redundancy such as Single router mode. Having one MSFC unconfigured in a chassis is not supported config and can cause forwarding issues.

You could also setup HSRP between the 3620 and the 6500 MSFC's allowing a seamless cutover when you power off the 3620 (or shutdown its vlan interfaces).
