I am trying to remove the clock rate command from a serial interface but get the following error:
FECPM PM doesn't support clock rate 0
If you have seen this before please can you help.
Thanks.

Paul,
you've probably tried this, but on a c1700, you can simply use 'no clock rate xxx' (xxx is the rate you set previously).

Thanks for that but yes i did try that command with and without the XXX. One thing to mention is that there is no cable attached ?

the cable shouldn't mattter.. have you already removed the 'frame-relay intf-type dce' command (assuming that this is a FR connection) ?

hey,
NO NO, cable does matter ...is the router 3640???, until you attach the cable to the interface, sh run will show clockrate xxx depending on the serial port type(1500 for serial and 2048 for HSSI)
attach the cable and do a sh run, you will immed see the diff.
Hope that Helps.
