SSH Hostname & Domain-Name Purpose?

Why Is It Required To Set a Hostname & a Domain-Name When Configuring SSH?, I Know Both Of Them Are Used To Generate The Key-Name But What Is The Use Of That Generated Key-Name?

Hello

You don't have to , You can generate crypto key without the need for a domain name.

 

example:

conf t

no ip domain name

crypto key generate rsa label STAN general-keys modulus xxxx
