I have configured NTP (Network time protocol) on one of our windows 2000 server and we have tested NTP server by configuring the clients machines and
clients machine are able to synch the time from this server but we are not be able to configure the router's clock from this NTP server.
We have tried to put the following commands:
ntp server 192.168.14.115 (Global Mode)
My Server & Router are both in same lan.
Also my router does not have clock update-calender
But when I am checking from the following command:
Router#show ntp associations
address ref clock st when poll reach delay
offset disp
~192.168.10.161 172.31.32.1 5 29 1024 377

configured
Where 192.169.14.115 is NTP server in our network
And router not be able to synch router clock with our NTP server.
Can you help us in building the right configurations through which we can
restrict our network on time base.
I am getting the following debug in my router.

You might try setting your router's clock to the right time. It looks like from your debug that the router's clock is off by several days. NTP won't reset the local clock and sync if it is not reasonably close to begin with (I don't recall if it is 3 hours or 30 minutes).

Hi,
seems like the clock is sync'd to a stratum 3 clock (127.127.7.1 is usualy the routers own clock, but stratum 3?). And there is also 192.168.10.161 configured as ntp source with stratum 5.
The router will sync to the source with the best stratum. What's the stratum of your windows box?
Seems like there is ntp security configured on your router ("failed validity tests").
Perhaps you can provide all NTP related lines of your config.

I agree with Nils that it would be very helpful to see everything in your config that relates to NTP (and in fact helpful to see your entire config).
I wonder if perhaps the router also contains the command ntp master, which would help explain the behavior that you are reporting.
