using DNS with NMS

Is there a positive impact using a DNS server with the network management system?

I did not realize the difference between using DNS coordinated name service or just by NMS collected names? Does the DNS server help NMS on querying and storing some information which was collected from the devices?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
