Hi, I just purchased a 2801. I have a WIC-1DSU-T1 that I'm trying to use with it. When I install it and power up the router I don't get anything. The router acts like the card isn't there. I've tried all four slots. I've also tried a different WIC-1DSU-T1. I've also tried both of the T1 cards in another router. I checked to make sure that the T1 card is support in the 2801 and it is. Does anyone know something special that needs to be done to get this card to work? Any help would be much appreciated. Show ver is below....

This is the same problem I had and it turned out to be the IOS did'nt support that card. Just off hand I would think 12.3 would support it but I would check it out.

I thought that would be the case too but I get no lights at all when the router is booting up like I get when they're in the 2600. The lights come on before the IOS is even loaded. This one has got me pretty stumped.

Do you remember if you got any lights before the IOS loaded with your controller when it was having problems?

I dont rememeber about the lights but if you console into the router and reboot it very early in the boot process there are some messages about what cards are in what slot, mine was saying that there was an "unknown card in slot2". I did some checking and the IOS that came on my router didnt support the card, I had to back to an older version or go with a 12.3 version that was only two days old at the time. This was the first of january.

The new routers 28xx,38xx, etc... only support version 2 cards.

Suggest obtaining a Cisco Router Guide fall 2004/winter 2005 v.1 Lit#9563150410.. excellent resource!!Includes hardware compatibility matrix, mem requirements, etc for SOHO, 800, 1700, 1800, 2600, 2800, 3700, 3800,7200 & 7300 Series routers.
