Windows 2003 Server network slow..

Hi I was wondering if anybody else is having my problem. I an using the Catalyst 3525 xl switch..

I have a New Windows 2003 server on our NT 4.0 domain. When clients

access this server to run report or access files it is very slow..

Sometimes it takes a few seconds for the file to even open.. Sometimes

if you run a crystal reports file it fails.. I know the hardware is

good on this server because a had NT 4.0 server on this before w2k3 os

and it worked great.. no lock-ups at all.. I ran NT 4.0 on this server

as a file server for a year with no problems.. Now with w2k3 on it

acting as a file server it is very slow.. This is a fresh install of

w2k3.. I formated the drives installed 2003 and brought all the files

back and now the problems. I have upgraded the ethernet drivers,, and

changed switch ports,, same problems.. I even took it a step futher

and brought the files over to a Windows 2000 server we had, for a

day,, and we had no problems at all.. So its this w2ks server for sure

that is causing the problems.. Any thought

Thank,

Did you have any luck with this? I seem to be having similar issues.

Have you checked with Microsoft? Have you tried another switch or hub?

you may be experiencing a TCP windowing problem

This could be related to a duplex mismatch. If the server and the switch are both set to auto, usually the switch kicks in at 100/half, and the server kicks in at 100/full.

Force both the switch and the server to 100/full and see if it makes a difference.
