I am trying to delete the config file on a pix 506e but it just hangs on the PCI Device Table when you boot it up. Any ideas how to bypass this? If you press esc when booting it goes into another mode (pix doc2)
any ideas?

when you press ESC during the Boot, it will go into Boot Rom mode. It seems like a hardware issue and you should try to get RMA.

Hi Nadeem,
apologise for my ignorance but can you point me to a link that exaplins the boot up sequence of the pix so I can troubleshoot this further.(Ive searched the web site and cannot find such a document on the ciso pix support page)
Many Thanks

not sure of any such document. You would need to get it replaced.
Thanks

Hi,
I've seen this problem before. The device starts to boot and then hangs. My solution : take of the lid of the 506 and find the jumper. Remove it, place it back and boot your pix again. I should boot right now. Then start a Tac Case with Cisco to resolve this problem permanently.
