HA 8510 with 100 Mbps on the Redundant (HA) Port?

Hi all,

I need to do some HA setup between two Cisco 8510 controllers.

I only have the opportunity to connect the two redundant ports with 100 mbps switch link. Wil it work, or MUST it be gigabit connection?

The two 8510 will replace 2 x 5508, which today is used and is connected via 100Mb switch link.

By the way, what will happen to the HA WLC if its just the link between the 2 WLC that goes down. Will it start being active, although the primary actually still is active and it's just a redundant link that has gone down?

Regards. F

How do you have the 5508's connected to a 100 Mbps port, they are gigabit only.

No. It must be 100/1000 or maby even 10/100/1000.

This is the setup. I plan to replace the 5508 with 2 x 8510 and hope to use the same Access-link.

Well it will work as long as it's gigabit. The 8500 has two 10gig ports though.
