Auto Backup VSMS Configs

Hi.

I am looking for a solution to backup the various VSMS configs automatically. I am able to it via the web interface, but this would not allow a regular automatic collection of the configs (similar like in the routing&switching busiiness).

I found that vsms_backup in the usr/BWhttpd/bin. But there is not much help how to use it and just running it, it complains about a archibe_backup.db.

At the end, a cron job should to this on a regular basis and copy then the .tar file to a backup destination.

Any hint highly appreciated.

Danny

If you check in the /media1 partition you should find a directory called vsms_backups.

The system automatically backs up the media server's config every day.  Perhaps you could have a cron job copy the gz file over to your backup storage?

Hi Gerald.

That's exactly what I was looking for. Even better I don't have to schedule the backup myself.

Doing a copy is a breeze.

Thanks very much for this helpful hint.

Cheers
