Hello!
I'm about to upgrading our RV042 to RV042G since everything in the Network ist ready for Gigabit except the RV042
I think it's important to mention that another RV042, which is at a 2nd location, will remain for the VPN connection between the two locations. (Older Hardware are used at the 2nd location).
My Question is, are there any known issues, which should be cleared before changing the router.
Mainly issues with configuration migration and compatibility between RV042 and RV042G VPN connections.
Thank you!

Hi Eren, it is the same router using the same firmware if the 'old' Rv042 is version 3.

Hi Tom! No, it's not the v3. I think it's v1, the old one (blue/silver case) (Firmware 1.3.12.19-tm).

Hi Fren, technically there shouldn't be any issues. There was a migration utility to convert old configs in to the v3 configs. My experience with it has not been very great but it does exist...
But for actual issues, I can't think of any caveats that are deal breaking. The only real recommendation I would make to anyone, before you get in to the project. load the newest firmware and factory reset the box then make your changes. It will save a lot of headaches.
