Hi,
i am trying to have a router loading a new IOS. I have done this hundreds of times.
The confreg is 2102, i have one single boot system statement that points to the new IOS. I have double checked the path.
When i reload, the router keeps going up with the old one.
I can't and don't want to remove the old IOS for roll-back reasons.
Anyone that can help please.
thanks

Hi,
Do you see any validation error with the new image?. if the new image is corrupted while copying, the router might fail during initial validation and will fall back to the next available image.
Can you copy the console logs during bootup?.

thanks. The router is remote and can't connect via serial.
I ran the verify command and it says it is ok. Any other thoughts?
bytes perfectly match the actual size it should be.
thanks

And i just checked the md5 of the ios in the router via the verify /md5 command. It perfectly match the md5 on the Cisco website

Hi, can you share the DIR command and the " boot system flash" command,
Just in case there is something that you have missed.

Hmm, very odd
the only thing I can suggest is deleting the new IOS and downloading a different version say one level back from the one you are trying now, and see what happens

Turns out is a bug in the rommon that wont allow that ios to load. After the rommon has been updated, and succesfully use the latest ios, i lost all the licenses in the router and i got a funny message:
