I've had a new 3945E router for a couple of months now and I've checked for new IOS downloads a few times but under the 3945E section, none are listed at all, not even the one it shipped with (15.1.1 T) while the 3945 is showing 15.1.2 T1 as its latest. I did open a call with TAC about a month ago but I'm not sure the engineer grasped what I was asking... anyone know the status of newer IOS for the E version of that router?

So, will the download "c3900e-universalk9-mz.SPA.151-2.T1.bin" that is available under the 3900 area work with the 3945E since it
has the "e" designation in the name?
Dan, Yes you can use that image.
Need to get the CCO download page fixed. You can use the 'Feedback' link to report.

Thanks, I thought this might be the case, I've found that ASAs (5505 & 5510 at least) share the same image despite those having different processors. It is disappointing that the TAC engineer who helped me couldn't or didn't locate or communicate that information and perhaps didn't even pass it along to the appropriate channel despite my suggestion to do so.

Exactly, with the TAC you must almost always request escalation to specializing team.
Thanks for the nice rating and good luck!

3900 and 3900E are different platforms.
3900 will work with 15.0M, while 3900E requires a minimum of 15.1T. They do not share the same IOS. The IOS name (c3900 vs c3900e) is different.
The 3945E (and 3925E) are the same chassis but with faster SPE's. The 39xx chassis is modular with a field upgradable
Services Performance Engine (motherboard). The E series have the upgraded SPEs.
Not sure why 15.1(2)T1 is not available for download for the 3945E. Something for me to look for. The next release is tentative for end of october

Good to know, I stand corrected then.
Cisco should fix the download page urgently.

Confirmed, this did work fine (or seems to so far).
