AS5400 E1 port capacity

hello,

I have a question about the capacity of an AS5400.  Table 3 on this link,

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/iad/ps505/ps506/prod_end-of-life_notice0900aecd804c6df1.html

says that the AS5400 can only handle 12-E1's of voice.  Why only 12?  Is this because the cpu can't handle it?

I would be greatful if anyone can elaborate on this.

thanks!

Doron

Hi Dorin, how are you doing?

Actually the table you indicated correctly shows 16 E1s support.

Using faster CPUs then available, that number was increased to 20 in the AS5400XM.

hi Paolo,

I am well thanks!  How are you?

I was looking at this line,

Port capacity per Chassis-Voice

16-T1, 12-E1

CT3, 20-E1

It says 12 E1's.  Is this a typo?

Right, 16 is for Data.
