We are trying to install an ASR for our Level3 connectivity which is currently in a port on our switch. When we pull the SFP and put it in the ASR it doesn't recognize the SFP so we purchased a GLC-LH-SMD and we can't ever get it to light up. The connection works on our switch so we know it's not them.
Switch inventory:
NAME: "GigabitEthernet2/0/51", DESCR: "1000BaseLX SFP"
PID: , VID: , SN: FNS1005H0EG
ASR inventory:
NAME: "subslot 0/0 transceiver 2", DESCR: "GE LX"
PID: GLC-LH-SMD , VID: A , SN: FNS172619
Working switch port config:
description TWT ENLAN
switchport access vlan 357
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 254
switchport trunk allowed vlan 357
switchport mode trunk
speed nonegotiate
ASR Config:
interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0
no ip address
no ip redirects
no ip unreachables
no ip proxy-arp
negotiation auto
!
interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0.357
description MPLS to MTKA over TWT-NLAN 1Gbps
encapsulation dot1Q 357
ip address 10.X.X.X X.X.X.X
no ip redirects
no ip unreachables
no ip proxy-arp
Why won't the connection even light up on the ASR?

What kind of ASR router it is?
Sounds like I'm having a similar issue on ASR903 and ASR920 with GLC-LH-SMD, when I insert the optic, it throws the following log:
%TRANSCEIVER-3-CHECKSUM_ERROR:iomd: Detected in the transceiver module in GigabitEthernet0/1/3, module disabled
However the same optic works in a ASR901. Tried different IOS images and still no luck. Working with Cisco TAC on this.

Simple over-sight on our part. We added:
no negotiation auto
that got the interface to work great.

Hi Byron,
What do you mean "over-sight"?
