We have a router (Cisco 3660) set up for frame relay in production. About every other day, I have to go in and bounce the ATM interface in order to re-establish connectivity. Unfortunately, I am fairly new to the world of Cisco troubleshooting and I am about half way through the Cisco CCNA cert training. I am not quite sure what I need to look at or exactly how to troubleshoot what may be causing the problem. I have looked in the logs and I have looked at the interface config/status as well as the PVC status. I am not seeing anything questionable, but then again, I am not 100% what to look for. Can anyone with frame experience shed some light on steps I can take to track this problem? Is our ATM interface going bad?

This seems to be more kind of hardware issue with card. Please have it swapped with new ATM card

Incorrect suggestion, nothing must be done with hardware before having researched all any possible software causes.

I checked the version of IOS we are using and it is 12.2 so I am going to start by updating the IOS and see if
that does anything on correcting this issue. I will keep everyone posted .
