Im beginning to do reseach on a proposal to migrate from an ATM WAN infrastructure to Ethernet. I searched CCO but did not get any hits that appeared useable. Looking for any thoughts, ideas, comments, plans, examples, best business practices, etc.

Hello Jeffrey,
from a customer perspective you should consider EoMPLS or VPLS layer 2 services, but also MPLS L3 VPN services if all you need is to interconnect multiple sites.
A look at current recommended designs is useful:

Hope to help
Giuseppe
