Dear all,
I appreciate if you can let me know your feedback, in my opinion actually Cat3K can support limited layer 3 static routing
on Stackwise with LAN base feature right? however if I have been investigating with CCO there is following information, it is little bit complicated. it is better to know if there is such comment on CCO.
######################################################################################################################################## [Routing Configuration Guide, Cisco IOS XE Release 3SE (Catalyst 3650 Switches)] https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3650/software/release/3se/routing/configuration_guide/b_rt_3se_3650_cg/b_rt_3se_3650_cg_chapter_011.html#ID176 Information About Configuring IP Unicast Routing On switches running the LAN base feature, static routing on VLANs is supported only with this release. If the switch is running the LAN base feature set, you can configure 16 static routes on SVIs. ######################################################################################################################################## [Stack Manager and High Availability Configuration Guide, Cisco IOS XE Release 3SE (Catalyst 3650 Switches)] https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3650/software/release/3se/ha_stack_manager/configuration_guide/b_hastck_3se_3650_cg/b_hastck_3se_3650_cg_chapter_010.html Restrictions for Switch Stacks Switch stacks running the LAN Base license level do not support Layer 3 features. ########################################################################################################################################

I know cisco document some time confusing - depends on how we read based on the context.
My notes, since I had some questions as you before how these are categorized.
LAN Lite:
·Entry-level
·Only bundled with small-business hardware
·Only supports Layer 2 routing
·A bare minimum of VoIP enhancement and security services
LAN Base:
·A good choice for small-to-medium sized businesses
·Enterprise access Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing
·Ingress policing, Auto QOS, and DSCP mapping.
IP Base:
·Medium-large business
·Complete access Layer 2 and Enterprise access Layer 3 routing
·Advanced quality of service (QoS), rate limiting, access control lists (ACLs), basic static, and Routing Information Protocol (RIP) functions.
IP Services:
·Large-scale business
·Complete access Layer 2 and Complete access Layer 3 routing
·Dynamic IP routing protocols (Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), BGPv4, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP)

Hello
Just like to add the default SDM template would be specific for L2 if you wish to utilize basic ipv4 routing then you’ll need to change the template to advanced and reload the device
