Changing the mode on a port from multi-domain to single-host

I have a AP connected to a port on my switch which has the the "access-session host-mode multi-domain" configuration item. I want to change that line to "access-session host-mode single-host". Can I change the mode in flight or should I shut the port down, make the change then enable the port again? Also would changing the mode  affect anyone connected to the AP if its done in flight?

Personally, any major activity taking place on the user connected device, always to be done on the maintenance window is good practice.

i do on the fly command change, since my environment only using browsing so they can reconnect any issues.

some environments very important like health care so just be cautious that's all.

check this thread and make a decision based on your environment :

Thanks for your response. I have an understanding of what I need. What I'm trying to determine is the impact of making the change, that is to say can I make the change while there are users connected to the AP without dropping the connections or should I shut the port (after working hours) make the change then enable the port again.

Thanks
