Hi All,
I've got a set of Cisco 7201's in production that are running OSPF and have BFD enabled:
router ospf 1
log-adjacency-changes
area 0 authentication message-digest
area 0 range x.x.x.x x.x.x.x
area 0 range x.x.x.x x.x.x.x
area 1 authentication message-digest
passive-interface default
no passive-interface GigabitEthernet0/0
no passive-interface GigabitEthernet0/2
no passive-interface GigabitEthernet0/3
bfd all-interfaces
My problem is that I appeart to have been able to turn Bi-Direction Forwarding Detection on but I can't use a show command to verify it's operation:
show bfd
% Unrecgonized Command
show bfd neighbors
% Unrecgonized Command
Is this a case of a feature that's there but no there unless you have the right hardware or is the command different and hidden somewhere else for BFD verification?
Many Thanks,
Duncan.

Hi,
Have you searched on Cisco feature navigator if it is supported with your IOS?
Here's the link for the tool: http://tools.cisco.com/ITDIT/CFN/jsp/index.jsp
Regards.
Alain.

Did you try the "show ip ospf" and "show ip ospf neighbors <> detail" and check for BFD's status there..

Strangely enough there's no mention of it on the Cisco Feature Navigator for the image I'm running.
I have tried the OSPF Neighbors show command and the show ip ospf interface x/x and they confirm that BFD is enabled.
Somehow I suspect the feature isn't actually there
