Hi,
THERE IS NO ISDN SWITCH TYPE CONFIGUED INTO CONFIGURATION.
ASK TO YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER FOR ISDN SWITCH TYPE.
If after still it will not resolve the problem. Follow below steps.
1) At remote end ACS server authentication??
If yes, than look out into ACS server aslo.
2) Can you give me following debig coomand output.
Show isdn status
debug ppp isdn q921
debug ppp isdn q931
debug ppp authentication
debug ppp authorization
OR ANALYZE BY THOSE COMMAND CAREFULLY.

Hi,
thank you for the fast reply.
I?ve entred the ISDN Switch type and I checked the cable also and it is ok.
for the debug I did not get any reply.
if i try it over the GUI it tells me that no ip address is obtained.
the interface is configured as backup for the atm. but on the atm there is no modem connected so it should be choose the bri automatacally or not ?
Here is the isdn status:
CPAME2#sh isdn stat
Global ISDN Switchtype = basic-net3
ISDN BRI0 interface
dsl 0, interface ISDN Switchtype = basic-net3
Layer 1 Status:
ACTIVE
Layer 2 Status:
TEI = 255, Ces = 1, SAPI = 0, State = ESTABLISH_AWAITING_TEI
Layer 3 Status:
0 Active Layer 3 Call(s)
Active dsl 0 CCBs = 0
The Free Channel Mask: 0x80000003
Total Allocated ISDN CCBs = 0
The dialed nr. and username / password are also correct.
I selected chap and pap but it does not dial out.
Attached the current config

Hi,
It should give debug out put. why it is not giving??
If you are doing telnet... you should be do TERM MONI (You know that correct).
See your ISDN line is working fine.
2) access-list 1 permit 192.168.xx.0 0.0.0.255
Above access-list do ..... (Extended).
check out.
3) On BRI where is IP nat outside? tell me
If you are doing IP nat outside on ATM interface and aspecting... when that interface down.. Bri should UP. In that case BRI should have also IP nat outside.

Hi,
yes I know it should give an output but it does not.
I added the nat outside on both ATM and BRI interfaces but no action.
So I will describe you the situation and I attached alo a pdf which shows the physical situation.
The router should be connected to adsl (which is the main connection) and over this connection it should build a vpn to a vpn 3005 concentrator in the company.
The bri interface should act as a backup connection which should be activated when the ATM is down.
Over the Bri should then also a vpn build.
What the problem is:
I got the router for configuration.
At the moment I did not get the information for ATM so I preconfigured it.
Then I configured the BRI interface for backup. I placed the right number for the ISP, the right password, I choose pap and chap, the right switch type but when I want to test the connection it does not dial.
But it should work without ATM right ?
The router should decide when the ATM is down BRI should be used right ?
But I did not get a debug message or a dial out.
What can I do ?
I?ve configured router before and they worked fine but this I do not understand.
Did I miss something in the config ?

Kai

Hi all,
I?ve checked the router several times and asked around but it does not dial.
curious: when I make a debug isdn all no message is deplayed.
(for information: term mon is enabled)
the frontpanel led of the router shoews me that the link to the isdn line is active but the b channel is not active. the isdn line itself is ok I?ve checked it with a fritz! card and another old cisco router.
could it be that the router or the isdn in the router is broken ?
the bri shows me up / up (spoofing)
Thanks a lot for your help

Kai

Hello,
I got a new router and there the ISDN BRI is OK. I got a reply from debug ISDN q921.
When I make a debug q931 I got the fowllowing:
*Mar 1 08:13:41.535: ISDN BR0 **ERROR**: process_bri_call: Outgoing call id 0x8
050 blocked
*Mar 1 08:13:41.535: ISDN BR0 **ERROR**: UserIdle: process_bri_call failed on c
all to xxxxxxxxxxx
why is the call blocked ?
attached the actual router config and the debugs from q921.
Regards
Kai
