CISCO 9200 trunk port not communicating

Dear Cisco Community

I am upgrading old cisco switch (2960 S) to 9200. I am facing truck port (tenG 1/1/2) communication issue, it is only showing VLAN1 however their are other vlans also assigned to it. Its status is shown as disconnected.

Other side of trunk port is also 9200.

Other 3 Trunk ports on 9200 (tenG 1/1/1. 1/1/3, 1/1/4) are functioning properly.

any clue why this particular trunk port is disconnected.?

Show interface switchport

Share this of trunk not work for both SW

It might be helpful to see the configuration of the new switchport and of the old switchport.

here is the configuration on both sides. (duplex auto , speed auto)

interface TenGigabitEthernet1/1/1
description SW1
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,101,160,162,163
switchport mode trunk

interface TenGigabitEthernet1/1/2
description SW2
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,101,160,162,163
switchport mode trunk

This what you  config

I need to see

Show interface switchport x

This give view what really oper in port

It might also be helpful to see the output of show cdp neighbor from both switches. Are they actually seeing each other?

On the new switch, post the output to the command "sh vlan".

Trying setting the ports to "speed nonegotiate".  I've had troubles before with auto negotiation and setting them to fixed corrected my issues.

Hi,

My assumption that it is a fiber port between both Switches. Did you verified call Layer 1 stuff as SFP is detected and supported on this model, Correct type of SFP and Patch Cords etc. Also Did you tried to verify the Fiber power at both interfaces?

Also, If a trunk interface is down then it will always shows VLAN 1 only. Seems it is Cisco Default behavior.

Better to share some command output as:

Show inter XXXXX switchport, Show inter xxxxxx trans details

Deepak Kumar,

any advise why this uplink is down?

I see 1000BaseLX in the output; what type of fiber patch cord do you have connected, MMF or SMF? If this is an LX module I think you may need to use a SMF patch cord.

So in end show command give use the correct reason why trunk down.

You connect via sfp can you mention the excat number of sfp and the cable you use how much long.

I am using SMF. I replaced the 2960 with 9200. with 2960 all uplinks incluging 1/1/3 is working fine.

Can you please share the output of a "show inventory" command. (From both sides of the connection)

Richard W. Pidcock

Loop the fibre connection and see if the link goes up or not.
