Cisco ASR 1002

Good day. We have such a problem. In our router ASR 1002-HX we have only input errors . Other side is Aruba HP 2930 . Both sides are SFP Aruba 1G SFP BT J8177D . What will cause this errors ? Can anyone help us?

Hi, you better use cisco SFP compatible to ASR for cisco side. do not mix other vendor SFPs in cisco devices. and also check fiber cable connection because there can be damage or misalignment at connector. better check with another good fiber cable.

Look at ASR1002-HX.jpg.  

Look at the Reliability and then look at the type of optics used. 

That is a cable fault.

If fibet can forward data, then your issue is unknown protcol drop, each protcol used hello or othet message and it send periodically and other side refuse it and drop it make input error increase.

Check cdp dtp stp ... for this case.
