Can the CISCO SG300-10MP be used as a WLAN controller? If yes how?
I do have a pair of Cisco Aironet AP1142N which I need to configure and set up but I don't have a WLAN controller. Can the SG300 act as such? What can I do to configure the Cisco Aironet AP1142N?
Thanks

Hi there,
The simple answer is no. The SG300 is layer3 switch, nothing more.

Will converting the Cisco Aironet AP1142N to "autonomous" solve the issue ? apart from investing a WLAN controller.
Just in case which WLAN controller is best for 2 Access point which need POE support. This is not an industrial environment but I want good and sound wireless connection.
Thanks

Deploying the AP as autonomous will mitigate the need to deploy a WLC on the network. It will mean you have to manage them individually, but two devices should be no problem.
The WLC2504 is probably your best bet for scale, and it also has two PoE ports.
cheers,
Seb.
