Dear Sir or Madam

I have Comtech modem CDM 570L and it is working fine butI upgraded my serial cisco interface from normal serial (WIC -1t ) to cisco smart serial (WIC -2t ) I had to change the cable between modem and router of cource I used cable (CAB-SS-530MT ) and I am using RS422 protocol in modem .

the problem is that the router doesn't sense the cable at all it looks like there is no cabe , I check WIC , router and cable it is all working , does comtech support smart serial , any advice to help

Can you send output of "show controllers" for the serial interface ?

Hello

I attached the show controller output and below is the show interface result

Serial0/0/0 is down, line protocol is down

Hardware is GT96K Serial

MTU 1500 bytes, BW 2048 Kbit, DLY 20000 usec,

reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255

Encapsulation FRAME-RELAY IETF, loopback not set

Keepalive not set

Restart-Delay is 0 secs

LMI DLCI 1023 LMI type is CISCO frame relay DTE

Broadcast queue 0/64, broadcasts sent/dropped 0/0, interface broadcasts 0

Last input never, output never, output hang never

Last clearing of "show interface" counters 3d01h

Input queue: 0/75/0/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 0

Queueing strategy: fifo

Output queue: 0/40 (size/max)

30 second input rate 0 bits/sec, 0 packets/sec

30 second output rate 0 bits/sec, 0 packets/sec

Hi, either WIC or the cable is defective:

Interface Serial0/0/0

Hardware is GT96K

No serial cable attached

hello

thanks very very much,

I changed the cable and I got the same problem,

but when I used another cable type , (CAB-SS-232MT) , the wic sense the cable but still have no connection

Thanks, thank you very much...

you all right I am testing my WIC by using Cisco router lab test cable my wic card is working so this leading cable problems but now I need to upgrade my wan link speed to 4mb/s and I have smart WIC witch cable can I use , I am really disappointment

Thanks for sharing, I am having a similar work to execute.

I need to change the serial cable for a Comtech modem CDM 570L to fit for a HWIC 2t interface, what changes did you make on the modem to accept the cable. My cable is CAB-SS-530MT.

Thanks
