Dear Dennis,

So the Cisco don't support the per-packet load balancing etherchannel.

So how to connect to the blade server that have 4 ports (one port 1 gig), configure with link aggregation load balancing rr to the Cisco switch that don't support load balancing rr?

Do you know other switch product that support load balancing rr for etherchannel?

Jerri,

It is correct, the Cisco don't support per-packet load balancing on etherchannels and as far as I know this applies for any Catalyst switching platform and, sadly, I just reviewed the documentation about this for the new Nexus switches and it looks like is not supported either.

The reason why is not supported, is that per-packet load balancing inevitably leads to out-of-order packet arrival.

If you don't know already, that is very bad thing in networking.

Unfortunately, there is still many people that do not know much about networking, but think that per-packet load balancing is the solution to their problems. Truth is, it is not.
