Handlink forwards to http://1.1.1.1/#http://domain.com but CISCO controller blocks traffic.

Helle everyone,

I have the Handlink WG606 which is basically a Hotspot router configured to use CISCO APs with controller 2504, interface is directed to 10.10.13.254 (Handlink), all was working fine, till system shutdown and rebooted, then all users (with username and password) , start getting errors (screenshot), knowing a direct link to the Handlink router (Wireless /LAN) is working just fine, asks for the username and password and when authenticated, it let the user surf the web.

Only issue when you connect through the Cisco AP WLAN, it pops an error.

Any ideas? Thanks

Hello,

can you access the management interface of the WG606 ? Judging from the error message, the device has been assigned the IP address 1.1.1.1, which probably is not know to the Cisco AP.

If you can access the management interface, assign an IP address that is reachable from the AP. To be on the safe side, perform a factory reset first (also available through the management interface)...

Hello George, Thanks for the reply!

I have access to Handlink Management interface, I did a reset, and configured it all over again, same issue!

The problem is not in the Handlink itself, it's when you connect through the CISCO WIFI, the handlink forwards to http://1.1.1.1/#http://www.gstatic.com/generate_204 to authenticate, when done, user can start surfing in accordance to his bill specs.

Maybe this related to the new DNS resolver , property of cloudflare https://1.1.1.1 ??

Which is creating some conflicts between internal and external 1.1.1.1 ?

For the handlink, https://1.1.1.1 is a built in Webserver for authentication.
