Hi,
I have just installed an AIM-ATM card and a VWIC-1MFT-G703 card in a 3745.
After restarting the router, it would appear that the WIC card is not being recognised.
There is also no "controller" command available from global config.
Output of show ver and show diag below, any help appreciated
Thanks
Lee

Looks like I might have found the answer
VWIC2-1MFT requires 12.3(14)T minimum. Can anyone confirm this please.
Thanks
Lee

Hi,
Confirmed, but only if you are using the NM-HDV2, please refer to the Software Advisor:

The way I understand it, requirement is 12.3(14)T not matter if sits in a WIC slot or on an NM...

Hi Paolo,
From the link above, the IOS constrain is only when using NM-HDV2, and its not supported at all on the NM-HDV and NM-HD-2VE.

Mohammed Mahmoud.

Mohammed, I assume is VWIC2 like mentioned in the second post and not a VWIC as per initial post. Lee is trying to use the card for a data T1 ATM link, not voice. He must insert the card in a WIC slot and the card is supported from 12.3(14)T onward:

Hi Paolo,
I thought it is a VWIC-1MFT-G703 as per his initial post and that he has done a typo error in the second post, and i think that you are right he is trying to use the card for data not voice, i was just trying to give him a generalized answer then elaborating to his specific solution, may be now the original poster can verify as he has all the input he needs.
BR,
Mohammed Mahmoud.

I think you will find that you need to install a different IOS feature set than the one currently in the 3745 router. The IOS that you currently have is "IP Plus." If you ordered the ATM Bundle, you received a CD-ROM with the "SP Services" feature set. If you didn't order an ATM Bundle, you will have to download the SP Services feature set from Cisco's Web site. Once you have upgraded to the SP Services feature set, you will neeed to issue a "voice-card 0" configuration command, at which point you should be able to see and configure your E1 controllers.
