I cant seem to view a Syslog with a Device Mgr. I have one router connected to a PC with Device Mgr software installed. I think I set all the enables for Syslog. I set the IP address for the syslog to report to the PC that Device Mgr is installed on. When I open the Syslog window its always blank.
Any hints on how to be able to view SYslog?
Thank you!

Hi Robin,
My first thought about this:
If your PC is directly connected to the router then you have to use a crossover cable.
My second thought is:
What protocol and port number does the Device Manager use?
You can set the protocol and port number
to use for syslog using the following command:
logging host [ip address] transport [udp|tcp] port x

hi robin
By default syslot uses 514. We are using kiwi its a freeware tool and easy to install. On router you need to add the given command
logging ip address
By default it will add all the severity levels.

we use Kiwi for our syslogs.it's simple.
Install a syslog server on PC.
You can find a free download of Kiwi syslog server on
