Hi Alejandro,

Please paste the output of the following:

- show controller shdsl 0/0/0

- show atm vc detail

- Also check if the IP you're trying to ping i.e. 172.31.224.165 is indeed the right IP and is pingable (have no ACLs blocking ICMP)

Subeh

How long, and which gauge size is the loop? It could be impossible to sustain 4 Mbs due to it's physical characteristics.

Hello

Yes the remote interface is pingable. Here you are

Alejandro,

Please configure the following under atm interface:

!

interface ATM0/0/0.1 point-to-point

ip address 172.31.224.166 255.255.255.252

pvc 8/35

  encapsulation aal5snap

   protocol ip 172.31.224.165 broadcast

!

Also, make sure there is no PPP involved. If it is then you need to bind this atm interface to a dialer interface or virtual-template and configure the IP there.

Regards,

Subeh

That will have no effect. When using point-to-point subinterface, there is no need to configure "protocol etc" under PVC.

hi

do you think there may exist a problem with the cabling between the card RJ-11 port and the provider wall box?

Or as the controller is up that is not a problem.

Alejandro,

Since the controller and ATM is up, we can remove any physical level problem. Please check with your provider if the connection you got from them requires PPP.

Regards,

Subeh

No. Check things with you ISP.
