IOS 12.4(T) support BGP ??

I had a Cisco 2811 router whose ios image is ios 12.4(T) with advanced security. This image doesn't support BGP.

error message it gives when I m trying to configure BGP is::

Protocol not in this ios image.

BGP is supported on both older hardware and older ios versions. Most likely the image you have applied just doesn't support bgp. You will need an image that does. If you will post your show ver we will know more about what your ios version supports.

Sorry to say the code you are running does not support BGP. It do support EIGRP, OSPF, RIp but not BGP.

1) http://tools.cisco.com/ITDIT/CFN/jsp/index.jsp

Then click on

2) Search by Software/Image Name/Product Code/Platform

Then enter your full image name under section Image Name

and serach it will give u 3 optiosn for router and selct your router and it will show you the features it supports and it doe snot support BGP.
